What is Collaborative Law?

It is different to conventional methods of resolution – there are few letters between solicitors as negotiations are done in face-to-face meetings (called “4-ways”) with you, your partner and the two lawyers working together to resolve the issues.

Court action is prohibited except to deal with the undisputed divorce/civil partnership proceedings and to obtain an order confirming the financial agreement reached.

Your legal adviser cannot act for you in any disputed proceedings should the process break down.
